The Sweets' Store Situation
by Sarah Maynard
It was the best time of the year for
an entrepreneur with a sweets’ store.
She setup her shop,
a convenient pit stop,
for treats just go knock on the bath door.
For Valentine’s Day she had planned,
to make crimson creations freehand,
but the hue in the tub
was a more pinkish grub.
“It needs much more dye to be grand!”
The confectioner left on the double,
never dreamed there would be any trouble,
unfortunately,
someone came in to pee,
and thought, “there’s a bath full of bubbles!”
He plotted his jump with some fast math,
which quickly he learned, was a bad path.
It felt more like glue
as marshmallow will do
if you try using it as a warm bath.
The goo clung to every and each hair,
’til he was one sticky and pink bear.
The cub was perplexed
about what to do next,
when the maker caught him in his nightmare.
He struggled and tried hard to break free,
said sorry then sat looking guilty.
Her marshmallow’d gone bad,
but the maker was glad.
Now gummy bear filled up her tummy.
